I’m an Edinburgh-based amateur photographer. My passion for photography began 25 years ago with my first SLR camera, following a string of cheap point-and-shoots.

I love the hobby for a number of reasons. Photography allows me to create memories, like my boys growing up over the years, birthdays, people, places. It also provides me with a of creative outlet, capturing the world as I see it.
The advent of consumer drones has reignited my interest in photography. It has also introduced me to a whole new world of video editing. Apart from gaining unique perspectives of the world, these cameras with wings are just great fun to fly.
Why a Blog?
A good question.
I grew tired of social media, even Flickr, so I needed a way to display my best photos. The result was the construction of my portfolio website (pretentious way of saying “somewhere to show my best stuff”).
This got me thinking about where to add my ‘other’ photos, and provide some context. This led to me toying with the idea of starting a blog (or should that be ‘blog?). Not sure how much time I’ll have to create regular posts, but let’s see how things go.
I have a sign-up form that you can view here, or on the right hand side of most pages, under the ‘Recent Posts’ list. If you subscribe, you will receive an email each time I create a new post, which is fairly infrequent at the moment so you won’t be inundated!
